Honey from the slopes of Mont Bougès

Bruc family (Bruyère in Occitan) settled in the Bougès foothills

Honeys from Mr and Mrs Bruc

This time, we're honouring Mr and Mrs Bruc, who supply us with local honey!
You can enjoy it at breakfast and, potentially, with your cheese.
You can also buy some at the hotel reception.

Here's their story:

Based in Les Crozes-Bas on the slopes of the Monts du Bougès (1414m), we took over a family farm that had always been devoted to sheep farming and beekeeping.

The wild nature of this part of the Cévennes, where there are few farms, has enabled us to preserve a flora rich in thousands of species and a specific fauna.

Our apiaries are located in the heart of the Cévennes National Park, from the limestone Causse to the schistose Cévennes, enabling us to produce a wide variety of honeys with different flavours: Chestnut Honey, Causse Honey, Wild Flower Honey, Heather Honey and Mountain Honey.

In addition to our beehives, we have taken advantage of the richness of our Cévennes region to develop a wild boar and venison terrine, made in the traditional way. We also produce syrups, coulis, marrons au naturel, chestnut jam and gratte-cul jam, all harvested on our own farm.
